Oaxen Krog & Slip in co-operation with Stockholms Stadsmission, for better integration.

Thank you everyone who contributed by buying a ticket to the event Folkfest and to all who contributed to make it into such a lively and great event!

This is a chance to experience a range of different food cultures cooked by women from a wide range of countries. Proceeds from tickets sales will be donated to Stockholms Stadsmission’s centre Källan and will benefit its cultural integration efforts.

The purpose of the event is not only to raise money, but also to invite people to meet new cultures and people through the sharing of food. Visitors will be given the opportunity to try the food from different cultures, cooked by women with roots in among Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. The food will be a demonstration of their cookery skills and culinary traditions. All women in our Cooking Crew are linked to Källan, which is a centre that offers help for people to understand and orientate themselves in the Swedish society, by providing services such as language training, children’s holiday camps as well as advice and support in contact with public services and authorities. Källan is located in the Stockholm suburb of Fisksätra, an area home to more than 80 different nationalities.
